Loyalty Points Rules
Points rules define how and when loyalty points are awarded or deducted from customer accounts. These rules are triggered by specific actions such as registrations, anniversaries, profile updates, referrals, and other engagement-based events.
From the Points Rules screen, you can view, filter, and manage all point attribution rules for a given loyalty program.
Important Notes
- Built-in rules (e.g. Registration, Anniversaries) cannot be deleted. If you don't want them to apply, simply set the Points to
0
. - Purchase-based earning and redemption-based deductions are not configured here.
- Purchase points are defined at the Loyalty Program level.
- Redemption rules are configured through the Rewards section.

Column | Description |

ID | Unique identifier for the rule. |
Loyalty Program | The loyalty program the rule is associated with. |
Name | Descriptive name for the rule (e.g. Member Registration, Product Review). |
Attribution Reason | The event or trigger that applies the rule (e.g. Registration, Anniversary). |
Built-in | Indicates whether this rule is system-defined. |
Negative | Shows if the rule deducts points (e.g. point expiry or purchase returns). |
Points | Number of points awarded or deducted. |
Actions | Edit or Delete the rule (if not built-in). |
Creating a New Rule
Click New Points Rule to define a new point attribution rule. You’ll be prompted to configure:
- Loyalty Program
- Name
- Attribution Reason
- Points
- Whether the rule is Negative (deducts points)
Once created, the rule is automatically enforced based on the configured trigger.
Available Point Rules
Below are the predefined point rules available in the system. You can use them as-is or configure your own based on your loyalty program strategy.

Purchase | Award points on purchases. The specific rules are managed in the loyalty program configuration. |
Purchase Cancellation or Return | Automatically remove awarded points if an order is cancelled or returned. |
Purchase Points Discount | Deduct points when a member uses them as a discount on an order. |
Redemption | Deduct points according to the amount required for the redeemed reward. |
Newsletter Opt-in | Award points when a member signs up for your newsletter. |
SMS / Viber Opt-in | Award points when a member opts in to receive mobile messages (SMS or Viber). |
Send Gift Points | If point transfers are allowed, deduct points from the sender when they gift points to a friend. |
Receive Gift Points | If point transfers are allowed, add points to the recipient when they receive a gift from a friend. |
Birthday | Award points to members on their birthday. |
Referral – Registration (Referrer) | Award points to members who refer a friend, if the referral program is enabled. |
Referral – Registration (Referee) | Award points to new members who register through a referral, if the referral program is enabled. |
Referral – First Purchase | Award points to the referring member when their referred friend makes their first purchase. |
Referral – Every Purchase | Award points to the referring member for every purchase made by the referred friend. |
Member Registration | Award points to new members upon registration. |
First Member Anniversary | Award points one year after a member registers. |
